The division between New & Old Delhi is the distinction between the capitals of the British & the Moghuls respectively. So, wherever the visitor goes, he will invariably confront the citys’ past. Built by Shah Jahan, the construction was started in 1844 and was not completed until 1658 ; visit Red Fort ( from out side only, as it is not permitted to visit from inside due to security reason ), which was also built by Shah Jehan. This massive fort was built from 1638 to 1648 ; Rajghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Witness the India Gate, the Presidents House & the Parliament. DAY 03 : AGRA – ( Fatehpur Sikri , Bharatpur ) – JAIPUR
After breakfast, leave for Jaipur ( 250 Kms / 6 Hours drive ). Enroute visit the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri : built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Moghuls, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved in its original glory. Later on on the way to Jaipur stop at Bharatpur to visit “Keoladeo Ghana National Park” Keoladeo Ghana National Park, popularly known as Bharatpur is India's best known bird sanctuary. This 28.7 square kilometer mixed wetland, woodland, grass and scrub is home to 400 plus species of birds. Keoladeo has been famous for the last visiting pair of the western race of the Siberian Crane. Unfortunately, the pair did not winter in Bharatpur for two years in succession ( 2003 & 2004) and it is likely that this species is now extinct in India.

After the visit, continue drive to Jaipur - The capital city of the state of Rajasthan also know as “Pink City” owes its name, its foundation and planning to the great warrior astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II. The city of Jaipur has broad avenues. The city sits on a dry lake bed in a wild and somewhat arid landscape, surrounded by barren hills surmounted by fortresses and crenellated walls. Arrive Jaipur in the evening and check in at hotel. Overnight stay at Jaipur.

Jaipur Festival, Rajasthan Tour VacationJAIPUR - The origins of the beautiful city of Jaipur can be traced back to the eighteenth century, during the reign of Jai Singh II who ascended the Amber throne in 1699. Jaipur today, epitomizes the spirit of Rajputana. In-spite of growing into a bustling metropolis, it still retains it's character and history - A beautiful fusion of the yesteryears and modernity. Popularly known as the Pink City because of the extensive use of the locally abundant pink plastered stone, painted so in honor of the visit of the royal consort of Queen Victoria. Jaipur thrills the soul with its massive forts, magnificent palaces, exquisite temples and lush gardens.

The construction of this fort began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar’s army. The fort is a superb example of Rajput architecture, stunningly situated on a hillside and overlooking a lake which reflects its terraces and ramparts. Visit the Jagmandir or the hall of victory glittering with mirrors, Jai Mahal & temple of Kali. Ascend on elephant back, the hill, on which the fort is situated. Afternoon, city tour of Jaipur.
